Megan Heller - Compensation Analyst, The Kalispel Development Company
Megan Heller
Megan Heller is a Compensation Analyst for Human Resources in the Compensation Department of The Kalispel Development Company. She enjoys being able to help make a difference for not only employees but also the Kalispel Tribe by providing analysis and administrative support for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians/Northern Quest Resort & Casino compensation practices. The opportunity to work with friendly and supportive people as she progresses in her professional goals also makes going into work fun.
She appreciates the Kalispel Tribe’s willingness and generosity to help people from different communities, whether it’s a tribal member needing assistance or a local charity helping disadvantaged individuals.
Megan works in the Human Resources building at Northern Quest, an upbeat and collaborative environment decorated with a few pictures of her loved ones.
One of her proudest moments so far was attending the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians Climate Camp on the Salish Kootenai Reservation in Polson, MT, while she was a graduate school intern. She represented the Kalispel Tribe and had the opportunity to meet and work with tribal leaders from across the country to support tribal environmental sustainability from both local and policy levels.
Outside the office, Megan enjoys golfing, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends and family at local restaurants. Her family inspires her with their support, hard work, and perseverance, always encouraging her through milestones such as earning two master’s degrees and studying or living abroad. She once met Keith Urban. For Megan, success means contributing positively to a community’s development while being supported by loved ones along the way.
Her favorite event that the Kalispel Tribe puts on is the various music events, where she enjoys listening to different genres in a fun space with good people.
To younger tribal members, Megan offers the advice that it's okay to change your mind and try different paths to find what suits your goals. For others in her profession, she shares five words (or less) of advice: “Show up, work hard, & have fun.” Bio from kalispeltribe.com
